Ivory FlowerHere's a size comparison for one of the jewelry pieces.
White flower broochI had been wanting to work in techniques like Or Nue, needle-woven picots and turkey stitch on a small scale. And I think I succeeded.
Oak leafThis is one of my older pieces, but I wanted to share it because it was fun to work.
GreenleafThis was my first experiment using severely detached elements (leaves and petals) and buttonhole loops.
Gray stone flowerI'm still so proud of this piece. I bring it with me when I'm doing demonstrations. This is the first piece where everything worked the way I wanted it to. It was about 200 hours of stitching. I still look at it from time to time, and get inspired.
Angkor WatIf you look at photos of Angkor Wat it's a record of a temple complex being devoured by nature. The roots of the trees are climbing down and engulfing the works of man.
WalkaboutI was inspired by the dot paintings of Australian Aboriginals. They're just so entrancing and have an obvious depth to them. I also wanted to obscure the tiny pearls with a lacy fabric leaf.
Local MapThe background of this piece is from a map of the Cosmic microwave background radiation. The amethyst represents the Milky Way's supermassive black hole. And the pearls represent the most massive stars as you look in that direction. In other words, this is a map.So, if you ever get very lost, this will bring you back within seven or eight light years.

Wheel of Fortune-ReversedI’m doing a new abstract series inspired by daily Tarot card pulls and Oblique strategies by Brian Eno.
The Hanged manAgain, this card is inspired by a Tarot card. The Hanged Man signifies a period of waiting, and always reminds me of Odin on the World Tree. It’s a time for contemplation and listening for what you should do/be. I think the secondary cue from Oblique Strategies “Repetition” was brilliant to go with the initiating thought. That’s what inspired the gold mark making over the surface.
The Empress reversedThis has been inspired by today’s daily Tarot card, “The Empress” and it was reversed. The starting image was of a church tower being slowly overrun by the sea. the text under all the drawing and painting is“Signs are ignored, and portents are ignored. The unhealthy silence blankets the world like snow”
